🌙 Complete Guide: Ramadan – Days 11 to 20 – Forgiveness

Introduction: Do Not Let Your Momentum Fade

The milestone of the first 10 days has passed. The enthusiasm of the beginning sometimes gives way to physical fatigue and routine. But did you know that this is precisely when the doors open even wider?

After the Mercy of the first days, we now enter the phase of Maghfirah (Forgiveness). This is the pivotal moment of Ramadan, when every effort counts double and every supplication can erase years of mistakes. Between the 11th and the 20th day, the challenge is no longer only to abstain from food, but to purify the soul deeply in preparation for the final outcome.

Are you feeling a drop in energy? Is your Qur’an reading falling behind? Do not worry. This guide was designed to help you transform this second ten-day period into a true spiritual springboard. Simplified reading plan, key supplications, and practical advice: here is everything you need so you do not miss your chance to obtain Allah’s Forgiveness.

After establishing prayer, fasting, and Qur’an recitation during the first ten days, the believer now enters a deeper phase: sincerely seeking forgiveness, correcting shortcomings, and purifying the heart.

Allah says:

Surah Āl-ʿImrān (3), verse 133

“And hasten to forgiveness from your Lord and a Garden as wide as the heavens and the earth, prepared for the righteous.”

Forgiveness is not just a word.

  • It is a return to Allah.

  • It is recognizing one’s mistakes without despair.

  • It is hoping for His mercy while reforming one’s actions.

Low Energy? Overcome the Fatigue of Day 11

This is when the body starts to feel the strain. To regain vitality without losing focus, follow the rule of the Three R’s:

Rehydration Strategy : Between Iftar and Suhoor, drink water in small sips every 30 minutes. Avoid overly sugary drinks that cause an insulin spike followed by a sudden crash.

Rest and Recovery : If possible, take a short 15 to 20 minute power nap after Dhuhr prayer. The Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, practiced the Qaylulah (midday rest), which is an incredible productivity secret.

Regulated Sugars : At Suhoor, choose slow-release carbohydrates (oatmeal, whole-grain bread) instead of pastries to avoid the mid-morning crash.

Is Your Qur’an Reading Falling Behind? The “Calm Catch-Up” Method

It is common to see your bookmark stall in the middle of the month. Do not feel guilty — take action:

The 4-Page Technique : Read exactly four pages after each obligatory prayer. By the end of the day, you will have completed one full Juz’ (20 pages) without even noticing.

Active Listening : If your eyes are tired, listen to the day’s Hizbs through an app while following along with the text. This helps maintain focus and progress.

Prioritize Quality : If you are behind, do not rush. It is better to read fewer pages with reflection (Tadabbur) than to finish the Book without understanding a single verse.

Guide: Your Compass for These 10 Days of Forgiveness

To stay on track, focus on these three priority pillars until Day 20:

Constant Istighfār : Make seeking forgiveness the engine of your day. Whether at work, in transit, or at home, keep your tongue moist with the remembrance of Allah.

Kindness Toward Loved Ones : Allah’s forgiveness is closely connected to how we treat others. Use this time to reach out to someone with whom you had a disagreement.

Preparation for the Final Sprint : Consider these days a warm-up for the last ten nights (the most important ones). Save your energy from distractions (screens, unnecessary conversations) and invest it in your night prayers (Tarawih and Tahajjud).

Essential Supplications (Days 11 to 20)

During this period, the focus is on seeking forgiveness. Here are the most valuable supplications to learn and share with your contacts to multiply your rewards, inshaAllah.

General Supplication for Forgiveness:

“Astaghfirullāha wa atūbu ilayh”

(I seek forgiveness from Allah and I repent to Him.)

Advice: Repeat it 100 times daily as the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, used to do.

Supplication for Purification of the Heart:

“Rabbighfir warḥam wa Anta khayrur-rāḥimīn”

(My Lord, forgive and have mercy, for You are the Best of the merciful.)

(Surah Al-Mu’minūn, 23:118)

The Master of Seeking Forgiveness (Sayyid al-Istighfār):

The Master of Seeking Forgiveness is an authentic supplication taught by the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him.

The complete hadith is reported by Al-Bukhārī (6306).

Here is the supplication as taught:

“O Allah, You are my Lord; none has the right to be worshiped except You. You created me and I am Your servant. I uphold Your covenant and promise as best as I can. I seek refuge in You from the evil of what I have done. I acknowledge Your blessings upon me and I acknowledge my sins. So forgive me, for none forgives sins except You.”

[Arabic text unchanged]

Allahumma anta rabbi la ilaha illa anta khalaqtani wa ana abduka wa ana ala ahdika wa wadika ma istata'tu a'udhu bika min sharri ma sana'tu abu'u laka bini'matika alayya wa abu'u bidhambi faghfir li fa innahu la yaghfiru adh dhunuba illa anta

The Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said that whoever recites it in the morning with conviction and dies that day will enter Paradise, and whoever recites it in the evening with conviction and dies that night will enter Paradise.

That is why it is called “the Master” of supplications for forgiveness.

3 Tips to Succeed in This Second Phase

Renewing Intention (Niyyah) :

By the 11th day, routine sets in and actions may become automatic. Take two minutes each evening to remind yourself why you are fasting. This restores strength to the body.

Managing the Physical Slump :

This is when the body’s reserves are depleted.

Nutrition Tip: Increase water-rich fruits (watermelon, melon) and green vegetables at Iftar to deeply rehydrate your cells.

Rest: A 20-minute nap before ʿAsr prayer can save your Tarawih evening.

Discreet Charity (Sadaqah) :

Since we seek Allah’s forgiveness, let us be generous with His servants.

Advice : Give even a small amount daily during these ten days. Whoever forgives others and helps them, Allah forgives him.

Conclusion :

“Ramadan is a marathon, not a sprint. The second ten days are when spiritual endurance is forged. By purifying your intention today, you open the doors to deliverance at the end of the month.”
